Pantone released its color of the year for 2013 and it's Emerald Green. I've been a fan of emerald green for a long while, but I didn't think it'd be the color of the year. My money was on a lime green. Or a mustard yellow ('70s style) or a bright orange. Something that was more of a classic, "coming out of a recession/depression color." Or a bright '80s neon color muted a shade or two.
That said, Pantone is usually a shade or three darker than I expect.
If nothing else, I'll have something to debate with with my creative graphic designer wife for the next month or so.
